Grand Theft Auto 5: More than 130 million copies shipped worldwide

Rockstar Games and Rockstar North have shipped over 130 million copies of their smash Grand Theft Auto 5 to retail stores worldwide. According to a report by Strauss Zelnick, CEO of publisher Take-Two Interactive.

The game’s open world was first released in fall 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360 but was later made available on PS4 along with Xbox One in late 2014. A PC version was released just five months later, in the spring of 2015. Today it remains trendy, mainly due to the multiplayer game GTA Online, and therefore continues to earn decent profits even after five years since the initial release, along with microtransactions.
